ISO Certification

Flexovit USA, Inc. is a manufacturer of high quality abrasive products for the industrial, welding, construction, and tool rental markets. In addition to its manufacturing facility in Angola, New York, Flexovit USA operates five strategically located distribution centers throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Over the past several years, Flexovit embarked on a major expansion and modernization project, nearly doubling the size of the plant to 100,000 sq ft and updating all aspects of its manufacturing and production processes.

On April 13, 1995, Flexovit USA received from the international auditing firm, BVQi, ISO 9002 certification of its quality system, making it the first abrasive wheel manufacturer in North America to achieve this status. This achievement of ISO Quality Certification was a milestone in the company's journey toward continual improvement and total customer satisfaction.

In April 2003, the company was certified to the latest upgrade of the ISO quality standard 9001: 2000. The adoption of the ISO quality management system was a strategic decision for Flexovit. The new ISO standard, founded on improving customer satisfaction, is structured to ensure customer inputs are transformed into business decisions designed to ensure that products meet customer requirements.

Quality must have the support from top management. Flexovit USA Chairman & Chief Executive, Jay Iliohan, believes that to be a leader in the field, the company must strive to continually improve product quality and customer satisfaction by providing error-free products and services. This commitment to quality is what prompted the company to seek ISO registration. The Quality Standard provides the company with the structure, tools and impetus for management commitment that is necessary to keep Flexovit USA focused on continual improvement and customer satisfaction.
